Today I tell you about a beautiful treasure- the Killinure Chalets, which are located at the Glasson, Athlone, Lough Ree by the River Shannon. These chalets have the best views of the wonderful, gentle giant body of water which is led to by a string of tall trees.
Their restaurant is a delight for any steak eater or a non-vegetarian, but if you are a vegetarian you can still get the best wine and of course a Guinness or Murphy’s. The restaurant is decorated like a large living room and is welcoming with its wall full of historical achievements and personalized swift service. There is a great veranda where you can hold a birthday party or large gathering barbecue and as the sun sets and it gets cooler you appreciate the warmth of good beer, good company and good food.
I didn’t eat anything being a vegetarian and sight seeing takes time, but I did have a glass of Murphy’s and sure did enjoy it. My favorite moment remains standing at the shore of River Shannon and watching it hit the rocks. Beautiful scenery.
