Mostly the first reference point for animals for children starts with the Lion King story and carries on to other films like Madagascar and then a trip to the Maasai Mara. The Young Jains Nairobi wanted to go deeper and create an awareness amongst their members that animals are in trouble, get involved and help in conserving and restoring the natural habitats in Kenya. Thus, they held an essay competition on Saturday 12th October at the Navnat Bhavan, Nairobi titled “ Endangered today! Gone Tomorrow!”. The chief guest of the event was Mr Steve Itela, Director of Youth Conservation and regardless of the top prize, the Chair Lady Of Young Jains Nairobi Leena Shah said all are winners for simply taking the time and effort to participate in a passionate and worthy topic.
