The iSikh team decided to hold their annual Gurmaat (Sikh) camp at Kenya’s holiest temple, the Sikh Temple Makindu which is also the famous stop over for road travelers to and fro from Mombasa as it has 24 hours food service.
On Friday 9th August the iSikh students attended the last lecture by Uptej Singh Rattan from UK, where he highlighted “we have to move with the future but not forget the past and think about what is your destiny?” and he recited a personal story of receiving the sacred amour cloak from a Sikh warrior that also impacted his life and his journey in Sikhism. Into the afternoon the children rehearsed on hymns for the evening prayer and skits for after dinner. The skits were impromptu and short messages from the ten Sikh Gurus. Also in attendance was an American converted into Sikhism and world renowned Kundalini Yoga teacher, Hari Naam Jap Singh from USA.
