There is a new group of young community workers and they call themselves “SYNC-Sanatan Youth Nurturing the Community”. This team extends from the Shree Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Lower Kabete Nairobi and their aim is to extend their expertise and ideas into the community through various youth programmes, charity drives, festivals and events and sports activities.
Their first assignment as a newly formed group was to celebrate the festival of Holi over the Easter weekend and create a fun fair atmosphere with color, food and dance. They succeeded in a colorful way indeed on Friday 29th March at the SSD Temple Lower Kabete. Both young and old were thoroughly enjoying themselves by splashing color with the water guns or patting each other with yellow, blue, red and so many colors. There was the delicious jalebis and other food stalls while some were selling the latest fashion wear. Another highlight was the famous ice lolly freshly made from ice and any color of your choice, this tasty treat is famously known as “barf gola”. As the sunset, music remained vibrant from DJ Aman Behal and there was a dance performance by Action in Focus.
