Today is the festival of Holi and all Indians around the world will be celebrating it, meanwhile on Saturday 23rd March it was the 66th National Day of Pakistan. A flag hoisting at the Pakistan High Commission, Nairobi in the morning, marked this day and in the evening there was a splendid reception.
The reception at the High Commissioner’s place included the Guest of Honor Hon. Mohamed Maalim Mohamud and several dignitaries’ and diplomats. The Pakistan High Commissioner H.E. Mr Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui raised a toast to the President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and congratulated the Pakistani disapora for their contribution in the trade relations between Kenya and Pakistan which stood at $219 million for exports and $ 215 million imports as at 2012.
The Guest of Honor appreciated this cordial relation and looks forward to inviting the country to use the proposed Lamu Port opportunities and wished them a peaceful upcoming General Election.
