An innocent smile, a golden heart and the will to keep trying is what I saw at the Oshwal Education Relief Board’s Inclusive Education Department Inter-schools sports extravaganza on Sunday 24th February.
The participating schools included Kenya Community Center for Learning, Jacaranda School, Bright Hills School, Circle Academy, Kestrel Manor School, Rainbow School, Oshwal Academy Nairobi Nursery and Oshwal Academy Nairobi Primary.
Teachers, caretakers, parents and fans had gathered to give their support by cheering, guidance and smiles no matter how last or slow their child performed. The races included obstacle races where they had to wear their daddy’s overall, a wheel chair walk race, a relay and a tug of war amongst the many events. There were kids of low and high ability both under and over 10 years old.
