It was a good film, makes me think Americans can do anything.

The movie starts with a grim reminder of 9/11. My heart sinks. Americans are notoriously unsubtle about movies which are meant to prop up their national pride. This one is no exception to the above stated norm. It is also very long at two hours and thirty seven minutes.

It starts with various interrogations, no, let’s call them what they are – torture sessions, which Maya played by Jessica Chastain watches. They take up about fifteen minutes of the work and they indicate no moral repugnance to such tactics, although Maya is initially disturbed by the physical aspects. The actor who is being tortured is Reda Ketab and he portrays the tortured prisoner in such a way that one is inclined…
