Star Asian Scene 3rd April, 2012- Kailash Kher Concert

03 Apr

My first impression was that this singer is a firecracker and I was not wrong. Saturday 31st March at the KICC Lawns the sun set down to be lit up by the amazing singer Kailash Kher! He was an entertainer, interactive with the audience especially when he said “this is a live concert not a TV show where you can sit with folded hands, come and dance, join the wonderful moments of this night”. At this point I want to bring out that it was also a new experience for me to sit front row and see the difference of enjoying a concert by paying more. Some may argue that organizers charge exorbitantly but really there is nothing like being at the heart of the show once in a while for your favorite artist I must advise that you should indulge. Ranee’s Productions did a fantastic task of setting up the venue and excellent sound for Kailash’s band Kailasa by Homeboyz. The show was presented by Hand In Hand Kenya kicked off with the talented children from Shangilia which is a home for disadvantaged children in Kangemi. All the way from songs such as “Tauba Tauba, Teri Diwani, Yaa Rabba” and renditions of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Tere Bin Nahin Lagda, Sajna Tere Bina” it ended on a high note and I hope to see them again. On talking to the lead guitarist and one of the founders of the band Naresh Kamath, Bollywood music is not the only music India has to offer their record company Kailasa Records will invest into more bands that play everything from rock to classical, so music lovers watch out.
